Victorian scraps have a long history. The story begins in Germany in around 1890 with handmade scraps from Littauer & Boysen, a company which subsequently changed in name and ownership on several occasions. Part of the original company eventually relocated to England, where from around 1950 they printed arguably the most famous scrap reliefs. These scraps were very popular among schoolchildren at that time, and are equally popular among adult collectors today. Here you can see them again in all their glory.
